  • how editors construct a paper pictorially
  • what gear is favoured
  • and show some of his best images

This is a chance to hear from someone with who has been inside the business of newspaper picture gathering and editing for many years and should be very interesting for a wide audience and valuable to those who want to provide pictures to the press.  See more about Mike at http://www.mikecowlingphotography.co.uk/

North West Regional Annual Awards
24 March
6.30pm - Drinks Reception
7.15pm - Awards
8pm - Dinner

Bluecoat Art Gallery
Liverpool
To book tickets please call 0845 094 0539

Yes, it’s back again, in the same successful format as last year, at the Bluecoat Gallery in the centre of Liverpool. This is the event of the year for members and their guests to come along and meet up with friends and colleagues, admire the wealth of creative images entered and share in the successes of the region’s competition winners in the luxurious setting of the Gallery’s own theatre.

The format of the evening which was highly successful last year, will be less formal than the original ‘black tie’ dinners of the past whilst maintaining the class, style and dignity of such an event. The evening starts with a drinks reception and a chance to catch up with old friends, after which we will have the presentation of the awards in the theatre, followed by a delicious buffet in the restaurant in a relaxed atmosphere.

The annual competition is completely ‘digital only’ for the first time this year, so we are encouraging members to submit more entries as exhibition prints and mounting costs are no longer a consideration. And as a, added bonus, due to these massive savings, you can now afford to bring extra friends and family and make a night of it.

Dig out those images you like, review all the work you’ve shot from the past 12 months and show the region how great you are! If you haven’t previously entered, give it a go… new talent is always welcome!
Bring your partner/spouse/family, friends and anyone who appreciates a great night out in an arty setting – you won’t be disappointed.

Roy Meiklejon, BIPP President, will be attending to present the awards.
